Antibodies to anti-proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) - Introduction

An interesting antibody reacting with proliferating tissue culture cells has been identified in approximately 50% of the SLE patients (79, 80). The antigenic moiety, termed PCNA, provides a valuable marker for cell proliferation. Anti-PCNA antibodies were recently reported to be associated with active disease and hemolytic anemia in SLE patients (81).
