ACIDOPHILIC MEGAKARYOCYTE (GRANULAR MEGAKARYOCYTE)
Description:
Large blood cell, round or oval in shape. The acidophilic megakaryocyte is formed from the basophilic megakaryocyte.
Size:
35-160 µm.
Cytoplasm:
Often has an unclear contour. Its edges are slightly basophilic or colorless. It is filled with markedly red or red-bluish granules.
Nucleus:
Sliced, sometimes with separated lobuli, with dense chromatin.
