THROMBOCYTES AND PHAGOCYTOSIS

Radioisotopic experiments have shown that thrombocytes are capable of phagocytosis. Closer inspection of these functions reveals that the electronic microscopy has enabled phagocytized elements to be proved both in vivo and in vitro. Phagocytized fragments of carbon, latex and immunocomplexes, viruses, and collagen have been proved.
