TRANSPORTATION OF CHEMICALLY ACTIVE SUBSTANCES

The thrombocytic membrane plays a key role in the transport of some substances in blood. It differs from other cell membranes in distinctly strong and selective adsorption ability. This function of thrombocytes is also important for transporting other substances and for the defensive mechanisms, i.e., more thrombocytes adsorb on a foreign body that later becomes inactivated by the histomonocytic lineage.
