FUNCTION OF THE PLASMA CELL
PLASMABLAST
Description:
Round or oval cell; under normal conditions not found in the bloodstream or in the bone marrow.
Size:
15-25 µm.
Cytoplasm:
Distinctly dark-blue in color. Their principal characteristic is the marked cytoplasm, more basophilic in the periphery than around the nucleus.
Nucleus:
Most often oval, eccentrically laid and with fine chromatin structure showing slight tendency to form clumps. It stains red.
Nucleoli:
1-3 nucleoli.
