 PROLYMPHOCYT E

Description:

The second morphologically recognizable cell of the lymphocytic lineage, smaller than lymphoblast but larger than mature lymphocyte.
Prolymphocyte can sometimes be found in the peripheral blood.

Size:

12-18 µm.

Cytoplasm:

Blue and relatively more abundant than in the lymphoblast, nuclear chromatin tends to be clumped, no granules.

Nucleolus:

Coarser chromatinic structure, but, unlike the lymphocyte, chromatin is not clumped but has a granular appearance.

Nucleoli:

Poorly visible.
