Description:

Round or oval shape, with distinct outlines.

Size:

10-18 µm.

Cytoplasm:

Polychromatic, pink-blue. The cytoplasm stain is the same as in normal polychromatophilic erythroblast because hemoglobin is present. The layer around the nucleus is scarce. There are no granules in the cytoplasm.

Nucleus:

Round, slightly eccentric. Coarse chromatin network is arranged in “cartwheel” formation.

Nucleoli

Not visible.
