ACIDOPHILIC ERYTHROBLAST

Description:

Morphologically recognizable as definitely belonging to the erythroid series. It is oval or round.

Size:

8-10 µm

Cytoplasm:

Red with no trace of blue and large.

Nucleus:

Small, round or oval with coarser chromatin strands, picnotic. As the cell matures, the nucleus commonly becomes eccentric. Nucleocytoplasmatic ratio increases in favor of the cytoplasm. After nucleus extrusion, acidophilic erythroblast transforms into reticulocyte.

Nucleoli

Not visible.
