Description:
Morphologically recognizable as definitely belonging to the erythroid series. It is oval or round.
Size:
8-16 µm.
Cytoplasm:
Gray-blue without red constituent. The hemoglobin synthesis continues, so the color of the cytoplasm turns pink-blue.
Nucleus:
Round with thicker chromatin strands. The nucleocytoplasmatic ratio is significantly in favor of the cytoplasm.
Nucleoli
Most often not visible.
