Pancreas

The pancreas develops from two separate endodermal duodenal diverticula, the dorsal and ventral pancreatic bud. When the duodenum rotates, the ventral bud fuses with the dorsal bud. The ventral bud forms the main pancreatic duct, uncinate process and part of the head of the pancreas, while the remaining part of the gland develops from the dorsal bud.
