CHRONOCOMB is a software designed to provide the physicians, nurses, medical biochemists, laboratory technicians, and patients using urine strips for self monitoring, with a pooled overview of current information and results interpretation.
The objective set on embarking upon the software development was to answer the most common questions encountered in the work, and those of highest relevance when deciding on the choice of therapy.
The software comprises all available data on drug interferences, either physiological or analytical, that may entail false positive or false negative reaction, and which may lead to medical misdiagnosis and consequentially to prescribing inappropriate therapy
By selecting a drug (generic name or trade name), a survey of its effect on test strip urinalysis is displayed. Correct urine sampling and storage are described at the beginning of the program. In addition, instructions on the use of test strip and relevant information on test strip sensitivity, specificity, and time of reading are provided. Upon entering the results obtained, interpretation of either positive or negative result is available, with due warning of the possible causes of false positive or false negative reaction. Additional functions include word based search of the software and SI conversion to a conventional system.
